New benchmarks for the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro, equipped with the A18 Pro chip, have surfaced in the GeekBench database. The device, identified as "iPhone17,1," has demonstrated performance that surpasses even Apple's M1 chip.
In GeekBench 6.3.0, the iPhone 16 Pro achieved a single-core score of 3429 and a multi-core score of 8790. This places it 15-20% faster than the iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro chip and approximately 30-35% ahead of the A16 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 15. Further analysis of recent GeekBench tests for the M1 iPad Air, after removing anomalies, revealed an average multi-core score of 8351. This makes the A18 Pro’s multi-core performance even more impressive, surpassing the M1 chip.
With this leap in performance, the A18 Pro chip is set to bring significant improvements in speed and efficiency to the iPhone 16 Pro, rivaling even Apple's entry-level Mac chips.
