Xiaomi’s HyperCharge is no longer exclusive to first-party gear. UGREEN’s latest 120W 2C1A GaN charger fully supports the proprietary 120W protocol while remaining compatible with 100W PD 3.0, marking a major shift toward a more open and portable fast-charging ecosystem for Xiaomi flagships.
It features a sleek, matte-and-glossy silver-gray aesthetic with a compact, foldable plug design. Despite its smaller footprint compared to Apple’s 140W brick, it effortlessly triggers Xiaomi’s 120W charging animation, delivering steady high-power output to the latest Redmi and Mi devices in real-world testing.
Safety is engineered into the hardware. A deep dive into the internals shows a PCBA module wrapped in thermal glue, metal heat sinks, and silicone pads. An integrated NTC probe works alongside large-area thermal films to provide real-time temperature monitoring, creating a robust thermal management system for consistent high-load operation.
The internal architecture is powered by the BPS BP83223 integrated GaN chip, featuring a 700V power tube for high efficiency and low standby loss. It uses Injoinic IP2736U controllers for smart power sharing across three ports and Si-Power buck chips to ensure precise voltage regulation across different protocols.
The build quality is reinforced by a premium supply chain, including Koshin and CapXon capacitors for stable filtering. The use of Tersemi SMD Y-capacitors and Wayon low-resistance MOSFETs highlights a commitment to reducing bulk without sacrificing reliability or electrical performance.
