iSmartware is pushing the limits of DC-DC conversion with the SW3146, a high-integration synchronous buck converter designed for 6A high-current applications. Supporting a wide 3.5V–36V input and housing low-RDS(on) MOSFETs (30mΩ/18mΩ) in a QFN14 package, it’s a versatile solution for 3.3V to 12V power rails in automotive and industrial sectors.
Efficiency is a standout feature, peaking at 95% during 13.5V-to-5V conversion. By utilizing external BIAS power, the SW3146 slashes internal losses and brings standby quiescent current down to a mere 10μA. This makes it an ideal choice for power-sensitive battery equipment and "always-on" automotive systems.
EMI management is built directly into the silicon. The SW3146 offers Spread Spectrum technology and adjustable SW rise times to keep interference in check. With a programmable frequency range from 200kHz to 1MHz, engineers can fine-tune the trade-offs between component size and electromagnetic compatibility for any specific application.
Reliability is ensured through a full array of hardware protections and a PGOOD status indicator. iSmartware also provides a streamlined Evaluation Board to help engineers jumpstart their designs. With its minimal BOM and accessible test points, the SW3146 EVB allows for near-instant performance validation and stress testing.
