DeWalt is pushing professional power tools into a new era with the DCB6112, a 12Ah battery pack featuring Tabless technology. Launching this summer, it aims to outperform the current DCB612 by fixing high-load performance lags and delivering a superior power-to-weight experience.
By shifting from "line" to "surface" current contact, the tabless design slashes internal resistance. This means less heat, longer cycle life, and zero voltage sag during heavy-duty tasks. Despite the power boost, it keeps its 12Ah capacity and features the iconic 20V/60V MAX auto-sensing voltage for full compatibility with the FlexVolt ecosystem.
What’s New? While the silhouette remains similar to the DCB612, the new DCB6112 sports a black base and an optimized cooling grille. DeWalt claims a massive 50% increase in both power and runtime. Integrated with a robust BMS, the pack ensures stable performance while protecting against over-current and thermal issues.
This launch brings cutting-edge tabless tech—usually reserved for EVs—directly to the job site. It bridges the gap between high capacity and high discharge, offering a game-changing tool for construction and manufacturing pros. Stay tuned to Battery TRD for the full teardown post-launch.
